I have been rather quiet on my blog lately and took a little break from social media. Before my previous “Instagram Lately” post, the last time I posted was 6 months ago! It doesn’t even feel like it has been that long. This year is flying by!
So, let me begin with why I took a little break. I didn’t plan on this break it kind of just happened, and to be honest, I’m glad that it did. Posting on social media was something that I was always concerned about and it took the fun out of life. I have been living in the moment and enjoying every second I have with my family and friends.
My husband and I recently had our first date night since having Isabella. That’s so bad, I know! We are going to try and make more of an effort to have date nights monthly. Finding someone to watch the girls can be challenging, but we NEED to do it. We have so much fun together and we genuinely enjoy each others company. One thing that my husband and I have in common is our love for good beer. We did a beer tasting not too long ago and boy was that a treat! We also just celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary (15 years together) and took a trip to Napa Valley. As some of you may have noticed, my husband is a very private person which is why you don’t see him on social media. He doesn’t have an Instagram or Facebook and doesn’t want his face blasted all over social media and I can totally respect that. What matters the most is that he has the kindest heart and the girls and I are so lucky to have him in our lives.
Aviana started elementary last August and that has been a new, but exciting, experience. Can you believe she is in first grade already? Crazy how fast these little nuggets grow! We have been busy with homework, play dates, volunteer work and much more! It has been so fun to meet Aviana’s friends and their parents and I have enjoyed attending class parties and field trips. Aviana is obsessed with Minecraft, still loves her little Squeaker fish, enjoys playing outside on her scooter and loves to swim! She is such a joy and it is truly amazing to see her transform into a sweet little girl.
Bella was the best baby. She rarely cried, she laughed a lot and she was so pleasant to be around. I’m not sure why, but she has completely changed as a toddler. I think the terrible twos came early! She and Aviana could not be more different. Bella is less independent (always wants mommy’s attention), she is fearless (climbs on EVERYTHING), and she is much more active! I love her to pieces and she has such a fun personality, but I need her to slow down! Mama is drained! Even Aviana has a hard time keeping up with her. She is a wild one!
Guess what? We moved, AGAIN! I know what you’re thinking, “Gosh, didn’t she just buy a new house?”. Haha, yes we did, and I love that house but we knew when we moved there that it wasn’t going to be long term. If you have been following me for a while then you know that I was living in Austin three years ago and we have decided to come back! We love it here so much and Austin holds such a special place in my heart. I met my husband here 18 years ago and both knew this is where we eventually wanted to be to raise our family. We are currently living at my in-laws place until we find a home of our own that we love. I’ll keep you guys updated! Hopefully something comes on the market soon!
BLOG and YOUTUBE
I have so many ideas on what direction I want to take my blog. I know that I want to continue and share my outfits with you, but I would also like to share home decor ideas, easy recipes, essential oil knowledge (@marsessentials), and more lifestyle content. Also, I am throwing out the idea of starting a YouTube channel. YouTube is personally my favorite social media platform and I have always wanted to create my own space. It makes me a little nervous to do this as I can be a little camera shy, but I think it is a challenge that I want to take on. Please comment below and let me know what you would like to see on here and what kinds of YouTube videos you would be interested in. I would LOVE your feedback!
Thank you again to those who have continued to follow my blog. I love this space so much and I can’t even tell you how thankful I am for each and every one of you.
