Acai Bowl


Acai bowls have been my go-to snack lately. I had my first taste of acai a little over a year ago while vacationing in Miami. This was something new to me as I didn't really see much of it here in Texas. After sampling this delicious treat I came home and decided to make my own. I have been hooked ever since!

Here is how I make my acai bowl at home (makes 1 bowl):

Acai Bowl Ingredients:
1/2 frozen banana
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup raspberries
1/2 cup coconut water or almond milk

Toppings:
Granola
Banana
Blueberries
Raspberries
Honey

Directions:
1. Break the frozen acai up into chunks and place in blender.
2. Add all of the other ingredients (banana, peanut butter, blueberries, raspberries, coconut water).
3. Blend until smooth.
4. Pour in small bowl and add toppings as desired.
5. Drizzle with honey and enjoy!

The great thing about acai bowls is they are totally customizable. You can substitute coconut water for almond milk, honey for agave and change your toppings. Sometimes I use walnuts, chia seeds and/or coconut flakes for toppings.
